Come into the darkness and listen by the light of the fire. A tour of the Iron Age village gives a good glimpse into the daily life of Danish inhabitants that lived 2000 years ago. A guide dressed in authentic Iron age clothes will show you the village houses, where you will hear about how life was for the general population at that time long ago. Who were they? What did they do? Was life much different than now? What did they believe in? Along the way you will experience the darkness of the houses, the smoke and heat from the fire, the weight of a grinding stone as it is rotated while making flour and the like. We will make a small offering to the gods along the way.
The tours can be adapted to your group, for example if you have a great interest in a specific topic. It could be the building style, forging or other crafts, gastronomy, healing plants, faith and superstition… Contact us by phone or e-mail and hear what can be done.
A tour typically takes 1½ hours. You are of course welcome to stay in the village after the tour is over and explore some more on your own. You are welcome to bring food that can be eaten out in the open or in our shelter where there are tables and benches.
Tours must be booked in advance. The price corresponds to the price of admission for adults x number of people. However, there is a minimum of 20 people per tour.
